Upcoming Groups

I would like to draw your attention to our new Cluster Parent’s group.  This will run on Wednesday and Thursday afternoons after lunch starting next week. These groups will address issues such as concerns about coming up to High School and helping families prepare for the transition.  It will also involve helping families set up morning routines and generally prepare pupils and families for transition to High School.

In addition to this, we will also shortly be starting the following groups:

 Help, I’ve got a Teenager

This is an opportunity for parents to come along to a relaxed, welcoming environment, enjoy a cuppa, and chat openly about teenage struggles. Topics will include mental health, coping with high school, establishing positive morning routines, and preparing for exams.

 Family Cooking

Family Cooking invites families to come along, enjoy cooking together, and spend time together in a relaxed environment.

 Self Esteem

The courses run once a week over a 6-week period and provide an opportunity to explore a range of important topics. Participants will reflect on where we come from, where we are now, how we feel, and what our dreams and aspirations are. The sessions will also look at where we want to be in life and how we can get there, offering a supportive space for discussion, self-reflection, and personal growth.

 Emergency First Aid

This is a certified Emergency First Aid course, which qualifies you as an emergency first aider for three years. The course aims to equip you with the skills to preserve life, prevent situations from worsening, and promote recovery. You will also learn essential emergency first aid procedures to respond confidently in urgent situations.

 Attendance Group

The attendance group consists of a small number of pupils who are regularly late to school. I will work closely with them to help improve their punctuality, as arriving on time can have a significant impact on their learning and overall attainment.

Managing Teens with ASD, ADHD, and Anxiety

I will be offering a 4-week course that explores the wide range of challenges children face on a daily basis. The course provides a supportive space for parents to chat, share experiences, and help each other, while learning practical strategies for managing these challenges effectively.

 Seasons for Growth

This is a 6-week programme where I work with pupils once a week to support those who have experienced loss, bereavement, or significant change. The sessions focus on developing coping strategies, exploring feelings, and helping young people find ways to move forward positively.

7 Habits of Highly Effective Teenagers

This programme, based on Sean Covey’s work, helps teenagers develop important life skills and habits to become more effective in school, relationships, and personal growth. Over the course, participants will explore key principles that encourage responsibility, goal-setting, teamwork, and positive decision-making.

7 Habits of Highly Successful Families

This Sean Covey programme offers families the opportunity to explore practical strategies for improving communication, building stronger relationships, and working together effectively. The group provides a supportive environment to learn and practice habits that promote trust, cooperation, and long-term family success.

 Teen Triple P

This is an 8-week course for parents that provides practical strategies and support for managing common teenage challenges. The programme helps parents build positive relationships, encourage responsible behaviour, and promote confidence and resilience in their teens.

  Parent Achievement Awards

At this years whole school awards, we had the wonderful opportunity to celebrate the parents who have taken part in our parental engagement courses over the past year. It was fantastic to see their hard work, dedication, and commitment recognised. I've thoroughly enjoyed watching their confidence grow as they worked towards gaining qualifications in a relaxed supportive environment. A huge well done to all involved.
