S3 Computer Games Development

An introduction to coding and gaming concepts. Pupils will build on their Scratch programming skills learned in S2 and will be introduced to Microsoft's MakeCode Arcade to create arcade style games that can then be downloaded onto the Kitronik gaming devices to share with the class!

Pupils will also learn about the different elements of games design: narrative, character design, level design, game mechanics and user interface. Pupils will review different types of games that they are familiar with, highlighting how each design element contributes to the game.

Pupils will develop a proposal for their own game, creating all the elements required for successful development.
