National 4  / 5

Topics through S3 and S4 include - town and environment, media (tv, film, music and technology), School and Future Plans, a past holiday, Family and Friends, Healthy living and Employability.

The Writing Assignment is done in school and sent to SQA for marking.  Pupils will write about a topic they are familiar with.  
The Talking Assessment is done in school with the class teacher and is marked by us here in school.

The Job Application Writing is done on exam day but can be prepared and learned in advance.

These 3 tasks count for 50% of the overall grade, so thorough preparation and revision can really give your grades a boost!

 

Higher

The Writing Assignment is done in school and sent to SQA for marking.  Pupils will write a discursive essay about a topic they are familiar with.  
The Talking Assessment is done in school with the class teacher and is marked by us here in school.

The Directed Writing is done on exam day but a large majority of it can be prepared and learned in advance.
