Scottish Credit and Qualifications Framework (SCQF): All you need to know to help your child.
Every qualification we have in school is accredited to a National Standard awarded by the Scottish Credit and Qualifications Framework (SCQF). The SCQF has 12 levels. The different levels indicate the level of difficulty of a particular qualification, with 12 being the most challenging (typically a doctoral degree). Scotland’s qualifications landscape has changed considerable over the years. From O’ Grades and Standard Grades, through to today’s Nationals and National Progression Awards, it can be difficult to understand the changes. Old Qualifications Versus New Qualifications
At Glenwood we are offering much more than just the traditional National and Higher qualifications. We offer Skills For Work, National Progression Awards (NPAs) and Foundation Apprenticeships with links to college. Some qualifications conclude with an exam, while some focus on continual assessment, which many pupils find suits them better.
