Skills for Work: Travel and Tourism (SCQF level 5):

The National 5 Skills for Work: Travel and Tourism Course is an introductory qualification in travel and tourism. It develops the skills, knowledge and attitudes, needed for work in the travel and tourism industry.

Learners will develop:

skills to become effective job-seekers and employees
skills to deal effectively with all aspects of customer care and customer service in travel and tourism
the product knowledge and skills to deal effectively with customer enquiries in relation to travel and tourism in Scotland, the rest of the United Kingdom and worldwide
At SCQF level 5, the candidate will work alone or with others on tasks with minimum support. All assessment for this course is done in class through coursework. Pupils must ensure the work is their own and that their portfolio is completed by the cut off date.

NPA Travel and Tourism (SCQF level 6):

Entry Requirements:

Learners would benefit from having attained the skills, knowledge and understanding required by one or more of the following or equivalent qualifications and/or experience:

English at National 5 (SCQF level 5) or above
Travel and Tourism units at SCQF level 5
Social Subject at National 5 (SCQF level 5) or above
Relevant work/life experience

This National Progression Award (NPA):

provides a broad overview of the travel and tourism industry
allows learners to focus on specialist travel and tourism sectors such as tour guiding or working as air cabin crew
offers a wide range of optional units to enable centres to meet local needs

Assessment

At SCQF level 6, the candidate will work alone. All assessment for this course is done in class through coursework. Pupils must ensure the work is their own and that their portfolio is completed by the cut off date.
